PROJECT 3: DIGITAL TRYPTICH
For project 3, we were required to choose a story from a website filled with Edgar Allan Poe's work and breaking the story down into a 3-Acts Structure, furthermore, using the story breakdown to create a digital triptych illustrating the acts.

Setup:
Once upon a time, there was a plague that spread throughout the country called The Red Death. Victims would be drenched in their own blood that seeped through their pores, the disease so rapid it caused death after 30 minutes of contact. Prince Prospero happily invited his nobility friends into his ‘castellated abbey’ surrounded by lofty walls and iron gates as well as entertainment of all types. The prince and his friends are joyfully secured within the confines while the Red Death ravage mercilessly outside.
Conflict:
One day, Prince Prospero held a masquerade ball for the guests. Each hour, the ebony grandfather clock would chime and the performers would halt as silence befell the room before resuming the ball. Because of that, A figure in a red death costume and stalked around each room at midnight. Everyone was terrified. Because of that too, Prospero ordered the guest to be arrested but nobody dares to make a move including Prospero. With rage, Prospero rushed through the seven rooms to the spectral figure.
Resolution:
Until finally, Prospero arrived in the black room and confronted the spectral figure. When the red death turned to face Prospero. The prince falls down and died immediately. The revelers die, the clock dies, the candles die, and the party's over. And so is the story.

FEEDBACK:
- Look into more examples on Digital Triptych
- Find certain actions or scene to summaries it in one panel for each 3-Acts Structure
REFLECTION:
Experience
My experience with creating Digital Triptych was actually quite nice since I found it quite interesting to study a story and break it down into a 3-Act Structure to be used to interpret it visually in a triptych format. I had a lot of fun understanding how to make Digital Triptych which I had never heard before until I had to do Project 3
Observation
In my opinion putting narrative into a visual story was quite difficult. Understanding the use of foreground, mid-ground and background are also crucial to give the triptych depth as well. With Edgar Allan Poe being the chosen writer for this triptych this work uses a lot of dark and gloomy colors to fit the macabre theme very well.
Findings:
In my opinion, planning a visual narrative requires a lot of planning and prototyping to ensure that all the details placed into the visuals corresponds to each other so it is important to understand the story and plan ahead so that we would be able to convey the message clearly to the audience.
