VORMATOR CHALLENGE (WEEK 2-WEEK 3)
The Vormator challenge is a challenge to test students creativity in creating
visuals out of eight vector shapes that have been given within a set of rules.
Apart from coloring the visuals, we also need to present a black silhouette of
our visuals as well as the arrangement of vector shapes.
Rules:
- Flipping, rotating, duplicating and scaling is allowed.
- Free transformation of Vormator shapes is not allowed.
- Use black and white and color is allowed.
Example of Vormator Challenge:

SKETCHES:
- I explored the shapes and created two characters from the exercise:

(18/4/2023)
- I decided to further improve #2 by improving the arrangement of characters.

- For the next step, I generated the colors for the character by using the Adobe color wheel. https://color.adobe.com/create/color-wheel

EXERCISE 2: ILLUSTRATION TYPOGRAPHY (WEEK 4-WEEK 6)
Requirements:

fig 2.7 The two words that I generated week 5 (5/5/2023)
fig 2.8 Sketch idea #1 exploring fonts and color theme that presents
planet 'Jupiter'
I started exploring the fonts on AI to find fonts that I can manipulate to express the words ‘Cheese burger’ and ‘Jupiter’ together, while experimenting different color schemes that would match their characteristics.
Feedback:
- The overall looked too plain and does not express the words properly.
SKETCH IDEA #2:
fig 2.9 Sketch idea #2 week 5 (5/5/2023)
After doing thorough research on illustrated typography again, I
realised how much the first one lacked visual expression, so I
decided to give the idea of a cheeseburger planet and the word
jupiter as the ring.
I incorporated the expression of cheeseburger from the idea #1.
Feedback:
- The burger was too round and didn’t have volume.
- The idea of making the ring around the planet more than one and in one line made the composition messy.
VARIATION OF IDEA #2:
